Gerald Scott Welker

Dr. Scott Welker shares Bosley’s passion for helping people restore their hair and their confidence. For as long as Dr. Welker can remember, he has enjoyed making a difference in people’s lives, whether serving his country in the US Air Force or volunteering as a tutor.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in Nevada and California.

Dr. Welker completed his undergraduate studies in 1984 at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with Honors. He earned his M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, Bethesda, Maryland, in 1994. He also holds an MBA from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

He completed his internship and residency training in General Surgery at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base / Wright State University in Dayton Ohio in 1999. After finishing surgical training Dr. Welker served in the Medical Corps of the USAF at several bases around the world, rising to the rank of Colonel. He is a decorated combat veteran.

After retiring from the Air Force, he pursued surgical positions in Walla Walla Washington, South Lake Tahoe California, and Clearlake California. He also served as Diplomatic Support Hospital surgeon in Basrah, Iraq, for 15 months.

Dr. Welker’s practice of general surgery included performing a variety surgeries, including intra‐abdominal surgery, robotic surgery, hernia repair surgery, and GI endoscopy. He has served on multiple missions to Haiti, starting in 2010, just after the country was struck by a large earthquake.

Scott and his wife Kimberly have two adult children. Their son is a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry in Kentucky, and their daughter is an Ensign in the US Navy, currently studying medicine at his alma mater, USUHS.
