I would strongly advise not coming here. We're literally talking about your body and having a surgery to remove part of your body and put it someplace else permanently for ALOT of money. The person that works here (at least that I spoke with) is not a hair expert. They do not care about you. They only care about setting up the appointment as they are a SALESPERSON. The advertising Bosley provides about the consultation says that they're a "hair expert" that will assess your hair loss and will do a hair and scalp analysis and will educate me on the potential causes of my hair loss and the recommended treatment based off of the type and severity of my hair loss. Literally word for word from their advertisement. They also say you'll get a personalized report after the consultation with photos of your head and hairline and possible treatment options. The guy that did my consultation literally did none of that other than take a few photos of my head and send it off to the doctor. I didn't even get copy of those photos but I do remember when I looked at them in the consultation office the donor area did not look good at all as it was very small and was in a diffused pattern. All he did was basically tell me about the procedure and go through financing options. He did not do an analysis of my scalp, he did not go through possible causes or other treatment options other than trying to sell me on a several thousand dollar laser hat. I had lots of questions and he didn't seem to know a whole lot about the different medications and treatment options other than trying to sell me on that laser hat(which I told him I had tried before and lost a whole lot of hair using that and he didn't seem to believe me). He did not give me a personalized report and he didn't even tell me the correct price as when I got to the office to have the procedure I found out about a certain treatment that he didn't tell me about that I needed as well as about how the anesthetic was supposed to work. Based off of the wording Bosley is using I would have thought this person would have been maybe a doctor or someone who's very educated in the different types of hair loss but this guy obviously was not. I'm 10 months post a procedure and I still look extremely bald as I have a very severe form of hair loss at a young age. I look nothing like the photos of the other men who had procedures done like he was trying to tell me how I would look in the consultation. I have been taking all the medication daily and followed all the post procedure rules. I hadn't even been on finasteride for a year and and did not have a great donor area. I haven't even been to a doctor to find out what was causing my hair loss and instead of him doing what Bosley says that he would do he just set up the appointment and that was it! Turns out you should be on finasteride for at least a year before you even consider a hair transplant but I had to find that out through other sources because Bosley couldn't tell me that. I also have an autoimmune form of hair loss in a diffused pattern combined with androgenic alopecia but again the Bosley representative couldn't tell me that or at least point out that I have such a severe form that maybe I should go see a dermatologist first. I went to Bosley for this consultation because they said they were experts and I thought that I would be guided in the correct way. In hindsight I'm realizing I was not and I was taken advantage of. They got my nearly 15k and my body is different than it would have been permanently and when I look in the mirror yes there's a little bit more hair on top but I'm really wondering what they did and why they did what they did and as I did not get a proper consultation. I'm completely devastated and don't know what to do at this point cuz you can't undo what was done. I've heard there's a better clinic in Madison, Wisconsin. I would recommend going there or at least going to a couple different dermatologists to get an opinion as they aren't trying to sell you on a procedure but they may actually care about you.
