BOSLEY HAIR TRANSPLANT PATIENT, JARED H
“I really noticed my hair loss when I definitely turned 25 and it was kind of funny, I did start to laugh, like, ‘Hey, I really am losing my hair.’ Then it really got serious, so I really started to look and research different places that could help me out, and all the roads led me to Bosley, which I’m very pleased about.” – Jared H.

There are two main types of hair loss treatment options—surgical and non-surgical. Non-surgical hair loss treatments include options like Propecia or Lasercomb. Surgical hair restoration (hair transplant) can be performed by a Bosley physician as either a follicular unit transfer (FUT) or follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair restoration.
For those suffering from hereditary hair loss, there is unfortunately no hair loss cure. In such cases, medication like Propecia, Rogaine and even the Lasercomb may help to slow down the progression of hair thinning and baldness. For early stages of hair thinning, these hair loss solutions can help regrow some hair, but they will not fully restore the hair and hairline that have been lost.
The only proven, permanent solution to genetic hair loss is hair transplantation. A hair transplant works by surgically restoring hair from the donor area to the recipient (thinning) area.
While surgical hair transplantation is the only permanent and most significant receding hairline treatment, these other hair loss solutions can help in your fight against hair loss.
There are many ways to treat, slow, and reverse the appearance of hair loss both temporarily and permanently. At Bosley we help guide you to the solution that works best for you to get the proven results you want.
HAIR RESTORATION PROCEDURES
Hair restoration procedures involve transplanting hair follicles from one area of the head (called the “donor area”) to the thinning area (the “recipient area”). Healthy full size vigorously growing follicles are moved from the donor scalp to thinning areas to increase the density of growing hair. Below, you can learn more about FUE and FUT, the two primary surgical methods for extracting and transplanting hair follicles.
FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION (FUE)
The Bosley® FUE is a minimally invasive hair transplantation technique in which follicular unit grafts (containing 1 to 4 hair follicles) are individually removed from the patient’s donor area and then individually transplanted to the recipient area.
There are no stitches required there is no linear scar. Your donor area will be virtually undetectable within just a few days.
FOLLICULAR UNIT TRANSPLANTATION (FUT)
The Bosley FUT procedure involves removing all of the grafts as a group from the back of the head from which the donor hair follicles are extracted. The follicles are then individually transplanted to the recipient areas.
Depending upon the size and shape of the donor area and the demand for grafts, FUT may be the preferred method of graft creation. However, the extraction process leaves a narrow linear scar on the back of the head. Since the scar will be thin, it’s easily concealed by all but the shortest of haircut styles.

Medical Hair Loss Treatments
Bosley also offers non-surgical solutions that are proven effective at retaining, strengthening, thickening and growing the hair you have.
TRIGEN+™ WITH POWER MATRIX PRP
Bosley’s TriGen+™ with PRP solution combines the advanced hair stimulation potential of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy with the proven power of low-level laser therapy and Bosley Professional Strength® products. Under the direction of an experienced Bosley physician, these three innovative treatments are combined to create one convenient and powerful solution for hair loss.
Scalp Micro Pigmentation
Scalp Micro Pigmentation (SMP®) is an innovative, solution that replicates the appearance of thicker, fuller hair. Specially trained Bosley practitioners apply a proprietary formula of pigment (ink) to the scalp with micro-fine needles to create thousands of tiny impressions, giving the illusion of hair, similar to the artist’s technique of stippling. This affordable solution can also be used to enhance an existing hair restoration or provide an alternative to individuals who want a non-medical, non-surgical treatment suitable for all types of hair loss.
LOW-LEVEL LASER THERAPY
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is one of the most effective, easy, and safe ways to treat hair loss. Cool laser treatments are clinically proven to stimulate hair growth and contribute to hair retention. Low Level Laser Therapy works by providing a specific wavelength of light to the scalp area stimulating tissue molecules that regrow and strengthen your hair.
